FIND
THE SIGNAL
ORBITAL is a private observatory network charting a repeating transmission at the edge of catalogued space. We build the instruments, fly the missions, and publish what the dark sends back.
Listening
Post Alpha
Our first array — forty parabolic ears bolted to a dead moon, tuned to the one frequency that doesn't belong. Everything ORBITAL knows started here, in a control room built for four people and eleven years of static.
The Particle
Ring
A belt of twelve thousand relay motes strung around the outer orbit, each one a tiny radio and a tinier decision-maker. Together they triangulate the signal to within a thousand kilometers — close enough to finally point a camera at it.
What We
Haven't Told You
The transmission isn't random, and it isn't natural. Three independent teams have confirmed structure in the noise. We are not ready to say what that means. We are ready to keep listening — and we want people who'd rather chase a real answer than a comfortable one.
Three Ways In
ORBITAL runs on a small crew and a large volunteer network. Pick the orbit that fits your skillset — engineering, analysis, or funding the next array.
Field Engineering
Build and maintain the physical instruments — dish arrays, relay motes, and the ground stations that keep them fed with power in places power doesn't want to go.
Signal Analysis
Sift the noise. Our analysis fellowship trains researchers to separate cosmic static from the thing underneath it — remote, paid, six-month terms.
Mission Funding
Underwrite a station, a flyby, or a full observation cycle. Funders get quarterly raw-data briefings before anything reaches publication.

Applications for the 2026 analysis fellowship close soon. Field engineering roles are open on a rolling basis. Tell us which orbit you want.
